10:30 am - 12:00 pm Keynote Presentation: "Anatomy of a Federal Surety Bond Fraud Criminal Case"
  Federal investigators will detail the investigation, trial, and conviction of an individual surety, who placed worthless bonds on federal construction contracts that hurt taxpayers, subcontractors and suppliers. They will relate the painstaking process they undertook to unravel the fraud schemes and to convict those in the chain of distribution of the fraudulent bonds. This is a unique opportunity to hear first-hand how a federal criminal investigation and trial on surety fraud takes place

  We started the year with lots of plans and hopes - how did we do? Some progress was made and there were also lots of disappointments. The growth of the economy has not been exactly robust but there has not been much backsliding either. The key change in the economy may be the sudden expansion of the export business and the fact that consumers have started to come alive. What does the rest of the year look like and what can be expected in 2018.
