Brian Wasserman
Mr. Brian Wasserman, MA is an Assistant Professor in the Construction Management Department at Minnesota State University, Mankato, where he instructs Estimating and Scheduling. He holds an Adjunct Faculty position at the University of Minnesota and is President of Leading Change, Inc, a construction consulting firm.
Brian and has been involved in the construction industry for more than 25 years through a family-run sheet metal business. He is currently earning his doctorate in Industrial Technology with an emphasis in Construction at the University of Northern Iowa. He has extensive management experience in information technology, construction software, software development, superintendent training, and business organization. He currently serves as the lead instructor for the NASBP Risk Workshop.
Leslie Shiner
Ms. Leslie Shiner, author, speaker, and trainer, has more than twenty years of experience working as a financial and management consultant for the construction industry. She is the owner and principal of The ShinerGroup, a consulting firm helping contractors maximize profits and gain financial control.
Leslie is also the author of numerous articles and publications including the Profit Press Profit Guides: “Health Checkup for Your Construction Business” among others. For three years she has received the CEDIA Top 10 Instructor Award. She teaches Construction Accounting and Project Management seminars around the country and is a featured speaker at industry conferences.
Mark H. McCallum
Mr. Mark H. McCallum serves as General Counsel & Director of Government Relations for the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), located in Washington, D.C. NASBP is an international organization of professional surety bond producers and brokers. Mark directs all government relations, industry relations, and legal matters for the Association.
Prior to joining NASBP, Mark was Senior Counsel & Executive Director of Programs and Industry Relations with the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), and Associate Counsel with American Institute of Architects (AIA).
Mark received his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and his J.D. degree from Tulane Law School in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Thomas M. Padilla
Mr. Thomas M. Padilla is a Vice President for the Manuel Lujan Agencies based in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Tom joined the agency in 1979, and over the past 29 years he has been involved in virtually every aspect of insurance and surety at the agency level and currently manages a large book of construction insurance and surety business. He also serves on the agency’s management team. Prior to joining Manuel Lujan, Tom served in the United States Air Force.
Tom is involved in many industry activities and currently serves as the Chair of the NASBP Education and Professional Development Committee and is a member of the Government Affairs Committee. He is a past Regional Vice President of NASBP, as well as a past member of the Boards of Directors of both NASBP and the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America. He currently instructs in both levels of the NASBP Surety Schools and the NASBP Risk Workshop.
The amount of continuing education credit awarded varies by state. Contact NASBP Professional Development at 202-686-3700 for specific state information.
All cancellations or substitutions must be made in writing. For a full refund, a written cancellation must be received 30 calendar days prior to the start of the workshop. Cancellations received between 15 – 29 calendar days prior to the workshop are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations received in less than 15 calendar days prior to the workshop are not eligible for refunds.
