Sample Orientation Notebook
Host contractors may wish to create an orientation notebook for the
surety underwriter intern prior to the intern's arrival at the
contractor's
office. The orientation manual may address many items including key
contact persons, area hotel and transportation information, and local
restaurants. An example of the table of contents for an orientation
notebook is provided below for the host contractor's convenience.

(Includes history, mission statement/vision, list of construction

types of projects by industry (i.e. automotive, building manufacturing,
energy/industrial), safety, quality management, description of
equipment,

(brief bios with whom the intern will meet with picture of staff
