Attendance High for NASBP Fall Regional Meetings

The 2016 NASBP Regional Meetings were successful, with excellent locations in the Hill Country of Austin, Texas; downtown Nashville, Tennessee; and wine country Napa, California. Attendance was high for all three meetings, especially first-time attendees, which was the highest it has been in recent history, with 57 first-time attendees at all three meetings combined.

Participation from the NASBP 5-15 Leadership Committee and new SFAA Young Professional Group’s members was also very strong, and the members in attendance had the chance to network and share ideas at a private reception set up at each meeting.

NASBP President Lynne Cook addressed the group on how to become more involved in NASBP and how to attend the upcoming 75th Diamond Celebration Annual Meeting this spring from April 23 to 26. Looking towards the future is a strong focus of the upcoming Annual Meeting, and session content at these Regional Meetings touched on that theme with an economic update and forecast from S. Scott MacDonald, and an in-depth look at subcontractor default insurance (SDI), which was co-presented by Brad Robinson from LendLease, an international construction management/GC firm, and from NASBP Attorney Advisory Council participant Mike Pipkin of the law firm of Weinstein Radcliff Pipkin LLP. All three meetings offered a session on joint ventures presented by attorneys from the law firm of Peckar & Abramson. P.C. and gave the attendees a chance to earn continuing education credits.
