May 5 is the deadline to reserve hotel rooms at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel for the June 6 and 7 NASBP Legislative Fly-in. Be sure to plan to attend. New for 2017 is the NASBP Family Day, held Tuesday, June 6, for attendees who would like to bring their children to experience the workings of government. Family Day includes breakfast, followed by tours of important landmarks in Washington, D.C.
Also, new this year is a roundtable panel of key policymakers providing insight into the much-anticipated large infrastructure spending package. The panel will begin at 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, in Room 121 of the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill, where invited guests include Chairman of the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee, Bill Shuster (R-PA 9th); Representative Scott Perry (R-PA 4th) (confirmed) who serves on T&I’s Subcommittee on Aviation; and Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management Drew Ferguson (R-GA 3rd) (confirmed) and Representative Rodney Davis (R-IL-13th) (confirmed). NASBP is seeking to secure a Democrat from the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee as well. More information is coming soon.
Register for the Fly-in now and book hotel rooms at the Liaison Capitol Hill Hotel before the cutoff date of Friday, May 5. NASBP cannot guarantee an accommodation once the room block is sold out.
Also, plan to register for the free NASBP Virtual Seminar that will be held at June 1 at 2 p.m. Eastern time. NASBP's Government Relations Department will review the surety industry issues everyone attending the Fly-in should plan to address with the members of Congress. Though the Virtual Seminar is free, registration is required. Click here to register for the Virtual Seminar.
