May 6, 2015 Issue Currently thirty-two legislatures are in session
Last night, H.R. 776, through the Hanna Amendment (Amendment 76), was offered with other amendments (En Bloc IV) to HR 4435 (National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2015) and was adopted by voice vote. In simple terms, we have the individual surety provisions in the House defense reauthorization measure, a very good path for it. The House defense reauthorization measure now includes both elements of H.R. 776 – the individual surety provisions and the increased guarantee to sureties in the SBA bond guarantee program (included earlier). With both provisions of H.R. 776 in the 2015 House NDAA it is doubly important that you attend this year’s Fly-in to ask your representatives/senators for their support of these measures in the final version (Senate/House) of the 2015 NDAA. Please register for the Fly-in here
