The June 11-12, 2014 NASBP Legislative Fly-in will continue the association's emphasis on the accomplishments and contribution of the surety industry, with a particular focus on a bill that could set more stringent requirements for assets backing individual surety bonds. NASBP's Federal Construction Contracting Seminar will take place in Washington, DC on Thursday, June 11, the day after the Legislative Fly-in. The seminar is designed to teach the surety industry about federal construction contracting's “hidden pitfalls” that could result in civil and criminal liability, said Michael Zisa of the law firm Peckar & Abramson, P.C., in Washington
McCallum said that NASBP members need to be “political animals” and called on them to attend this year’s Legislative Fly-in, on June 11 and 12 in Washington, D.C.
