NASBP Members to present Sept 24, 25 during SBA Surety Bond Guarantee Program 50th anniversary celebration

  

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Surety Bond Guarantee Program (SBG) with a two-day virtual conference on Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. Registration is free! NASBP is proud to be a sponsor of this program.

In the SBA Surety Bond Guarantee Program, the SBA guarantees surety bonds to surety companies that agree to bond small businesses that might not be able to qualify for a bond in the standard market. Bond producers help these small businesses navigate the SBA bond guarantee program, matching them with a participating surety company and getting them on the road to achieving surety credit.

The SBG Program 50th Anniversary celebration has a full slate of programming on the schedule for Thursday and Friday afternoons. It will kick off with a welcome from Peter Gibbs, Director, Office of Surety Guarantees (OSG) and a review of the first 50 years of OSG with Tamara Murray and Richard Gomez.

Mike WilliamsOn Thursday, September 24 multiple representatives of NASBP Affiliates will be speaking, and NASBP Member Mike Williams (pictured here) of CCI Surety will be on a panel titled “State of the OSG and SBG Program.”








Mark McCallum and Chris DowneyOn Friday, September 25, NASBP CEO Mark McCallum (left) and Chris Downey (right) of Downey and Co., NASBP Small & Emerging Business Committee Chair, will be speaking on a panel titled “OSG and the Next 50 Years” at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, during which they will be discussing the future of the surety bond industry and the SBA with other panelists.

The keynote presentation by motivational speaker Marcus Lemonis will close out the event at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
