Welcome

2017 NASBP Legislative Fly-in Day - Wednesday, June 7

The event will begin the evening of Tuesday, June 6, at a pre-Fly-in reception at the Liaison Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., during which NASBP will provide talking points for Fly-in attendees. The Fly-in will feature a round-table panel discussion focused on infrastructure spending.  With so much talk of a potential infrastructure spending package, NASBP has assembled several key policy makers to gain their insights and visions of what voters might expect in an infrastructure bill. The round-table panel discussion will begin the morning of Wednesday, June 7 at 8 a.m. on Capitol hill at the 121 Cannon House Office Building, where invited guests include:

  • Chairman of the U.S. House Transportation & Infrastructure (T&I) Committee, Bill Shuster (R-PA-9th)
  • Representative Rodney Davis (R-IL-13th) (confirmed) who serves on the Water Resources and Environment, Highways and Transit subcommittees,
  • Representative Drew Ferguson (R-GA-3rd) (confirmed) Vice Chair of the Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings and Emergency Management, and Chairman of the Subcommittee on Highways and Transit
  • Representative Alan Lowenthal (D-CA-47) (confirmed) who serves on the Water Resources and Environment, Highways and Transit, and Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation subcommittees
  • Representative Scott Perry (R-PA-4th) (confirmed) who serves on T&I’s Subcommittee on Aviation.

This is an excellent opportunity for NASBP fly-in attendees to learn firsthand what these key policymakers are contemplating and debating during committee deliberations relating to infrastructure spending.  After the panel has concluded, the rest of the day will be devoted to your Capitol Hill appointments. Attendees are then invited to a cocktail reception that evening back at the Liaison Capitol Hill where they can debrief their colleagues on their visits that day. Click here for the full agenda.
