New NASBP Staff Member on Board

Welcome Liz Wise to the NASBP Staff

Be sure to welcome Liz Wise, who recently joined the NASBP staff as the Director of Professional Development. She will oversee the NASBP Professional Development Committee and many other NASBP educational initiatives. Wise has 17 years of experience working in the construction industry. 

From 2007-2014, she served as Senior Director of Workforce and Education Advancement at the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) where she was responsible for updating the first two units of AGC’s Building Information Modeling Education Program and creating Units 4 and 5 of AGC’s Lean Construction Education Program. She also served as the staff liaison to the AGC Training, Education and Development Forum, a group of AGC members and AGC Chapter staff interested in creating, updating, and disseminating information about a wide variety of AGC education programs, webinars, in-seat development programs and hosting an annual Construction Human Resources and Training Professionals Conference. In addition, she served three years as an employer representative to the Federal Advisory Committee on Apprenticeship, which advises the U.S. Secretary of Labor on matters related to the registered apprenticeship system.

Prior to that, Wise worked for the New York State Chapter, AGC from 1997 to 2007, serving as Communications Director and staff liaison to the Safety and Scholarship committees. While there, she founded the Albany Construction Career Days event, the New York State Construction Career Days Committee, and the national Construction Career Days Advisory Board. 

Wise graduated from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in magazine journalism and spent a decade working for daily newspapers. Please join us in welcoming her to the NASBP team. She can be reached at lwise@nasbp.org or 202-464-1176.
