NASBP Elects the 2014-2015 Leadership at NASBP Annual Meeting & Expo in San Antonio

NASBP announced the 2014-2015 NASBP Leadership on April 29 at the NASBP Annual Meeting & Expo in San Antonio, TX. NASBP elected the following NASBP 2014-2015 Officers: Thomas M. Padilla was elected NASBP President. Padilla is Senior Vice President of HUB International Insurance Services, Albuquerque, NM. NASBP elected Susan Hecker as NASBP First Vice President. Hecker is Director of National Contract Surety Area and Executive Vice President of the Construction Practice at Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. in San Francisco, CA. Lynne W. Cook was elected as NASBP Second Vice President. Cook is Senior Vice President of Early, Cassidy & Schilling, Inc. in Rockville, MD. Howard Cowan was elected NASBP Third Vice President. Cowan is President of the Cowan-Hill Bond Agency Inc. in Lubbock, TX. In addition, Lawrence F. McMahon will serve as Immediate Past President. McMahon is Executive Vice President of Alliant Insurance Services, Inc. in San Diego, CA.

The NASBP Executive Committee is comprised of the Officers listed above and three Ex Officio Members, who represent the NASBP Directors-At-Large and Regional Directors and the 5-15 Leadership Circle. Bradley Babcock, Owner of Babcock Solutions, Inc. of Cedarburg, WI, was elected to represent the NASBP Directors-At-Large. Jennifer L. Salm, Bond Department Manager of The Brower Insurance Agency in Dayton, OH, was elected to represent the NASBP Regional Directors. Andrew Tokasz serves as the Ex Officio representing the 5-15 Leadership Circle. The position of Ex Officio representing the 5-15 Leadership Circle was recently created in the fall of 2013.   

Also, NASBP announced the appointment of four Directors-At-Large and three Regional Directors to serve on the NASBP Board of Directors. 

NASBP has elected the following bond producers to the position of Director-At-Large:
Brian Ayres of L.A. Surety Solutions, LLC. in Louisville, KY; Dale “Dedi” A. Belis of Seitlin a Marsh & McLennan Agency in West Palm Beach, FL; Mark M. Munekawa of Woodruff-Sawyer & Co. in San Francisco, CA; Emilio Saldana of Marsh-Saldana in San Juan, PR; and Eric Zimmerman of Propel Insurance in Seattle, WA.

NASBP Directors-At-Large set policy for the Association and vote on the Association’s policy matters. These four join eight other NASBP Directors-At-Large currently serving on the Board. Directors-At-Large serve three years.

In addition, to the nine Regional Directors who were re-appointed to oversee their regions, NASBP has elected the following three, new Regional Directors:
John Bustard of King & Neel, Inc. in Honolulu, HI who will oversee Region 2 that includes Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Mexico, and Nevada; Chad Martin of TIS Insurance Services in Knoxville, TN who will oversee Region 8 that includes Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee; and Jose Milan of Carrion, Laffitte & Casellas, Inc., a division of HUB International Insurance Services in Hato Rey, PR, who will oversee Region 12 that includes South America and Puerto Rico.

Each Regional Director helps plan the annual NASBP regional meeting for their region and serves at least a one-year term. Regional Directors may serve consecutive years.
