NASBP William J. Angell Surety School – Hotel Cut-off Date Approaching Quickly

Take the opportunity to register for 2015 Winter Session of the William J. Angell Surety School. The hotel cut-off date is Jan. 12 and fast approaching. The classes are filling up quickly so give yourself the gift of surety education or ensure that the next generation has the skills necessary to help your business grow in 2015. These classes are taught by outstanding faculty who have a wealth of experience and knowledge. The curriculum will cover the subjects you’ll need to enhance your surety knowledge in the industry. You’ll also get to meet other students with whom you’ll be able to establish professional relationships.

The classes for both Levels I and Level II will take place in Houston, Texas.

Level I : Jan. 25-28 ─ Surety School Level I is intended for in-house bond department staff, producers new to contract surety, and those new to the industry. The curriculum includes: an overview of the surety industry, introductory financial statement analysis, work in process concepts and application, surety credit information gathering techniques, submissions to surety companies, review of regularly encountered surety documents and bond forms, commercial surety and introduction to claims handling concepts. Level II: Jan. 25-30  ─ Surety School Level II is intended for the bond producer/underwriter/account manager with one to six years of experience. The curriculum includes intensive training in: contractor profiling, detailed financial analysis, concepts and effective practices of account activation and service, claims handling, industry marketplace changes, and ethics. The week-long school emphasizes the relationship between the producer, surety, and contractor, techniques of gathering information about the contractor and preparation of the case submission to the surety. The curriculum culminates in a real-time, interactive case presentation, causing students to draw on concepts, applications, and methodologies presented during the entire program.
