Meet the New NASBP Advisory Council Participants

NASBP is pleased to announce that one CPA and two attorneys have joined the NASBP CPA Advisory Council (CPAAC) and the NASBP Attorney Advisory Council (AAC), respectively. Todd Feuerman has joined the CPAAC, and Chad Schnexnayder and Greg Veal have joined the AAC, to further enhance the valuable NASBP “resource teams.” Each of these professionals has already brought his deep expertise to NASBP’s publications, podcasts, and Virtual Seminars.

The mission statement for the CPAAC states as follows:

The NASBP CPA Advisory Council is constituted for the purpose of serving as a resource team to NASBP and providing substantive content to NASBP for articles, programs, and presentations on tax and other financial issues regarding surety, government contracts and construction law topics for the betterment of the surety industry.

The NASBP Attorney Advisory Council is constituted for the purpose of serving as a resource team to NASBP and providing substantive content to NASBP for articles, programs, and presentations on surety, government contracts, and construction law topics for the betterment of the surety industry.

Todd FeuermanTodd Feuerman, CPA, CCA, MBA, is Director in the Audit and Accounting Practice of Ellin & Tucker of Baltimore, MD, and chair of the firm’s Construction Services Group. An expert in the construction industry, he brings more than 30 years of expertise to Ellin & Tucker and its clients on such topics as succession planning, financial modeling and forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, and debt structuring. Chad L. SchexnayderChad L. Schexnayder is a Partner with the law firm of Jennings, Haug, Keleher, McLeod and regularly represents surety clients in bankruptcy cases throughout the United States. He has more than 35 years of experience in commercial litigation, in both state and federal courts, including U.S. bankruptcy courts throughout the country. His trial and litigation experience includes complex business disputes, surety and fidelity, construction law, construction litigation, bankruptcy, real estate disputes, residential construction defects, and personal injury defense. He is a faculty member for the NASBP William J. Angell Surety School and is a participant on the NASBP Attorney Advisory Council. In addition, he currently serves as the Immediate Past Chair of the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the American Bar Association, Tort & Insurance Practice Section. He was the 2020-2021 Chair of the ABA/TIPS Fidelity and Surety Law Committee, co-author of Chapter 145, "Surety and Bankruptcy" in the New Appleman on Insurance, and co-editor of the new American Bar Association treatise, Surety Aspects of Bankruptcy Law and Practice, published in 2021. Greg Veal

Gregory R. Veal is the Managing Partner of Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC, with offices in Georgia and the Carolinas. For over 40 years, he has assisted sureties in resolving bond claims and recovering losses. His Juris Doctor degree is from the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was an editor of the law review. He is a board member of the Surety Claims Institute and the Southern Surety & Fidelity Claims Association, treasurer of the Atlanta Surety Claims Association, a member of the ABA TIPS FSLC, and serves on the NASBP Attorney Advisory Council.
