AI Use at NASBP Meetings Policy

Policy

To balance the benefits of artificial intelligence (Al) tools with privacy and security considerations, NASBP has implemented a policy regarding the use of Al notetaking tools at its meetings.

Under this policy, Al notetaking tools may not be used to record NASBP meetings, except in circumstances where the approval of NASBP and of attendees has been obtained in advance. Written approval requests may be directed to the CEO of NASBP and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis, examining, among other factors, the nature of the meeting, the sensitivity of the information to be discussed, and the potential benefits of using AI tools.

Although Al tools can offer helpful capabilities for capturing and transcribing discussions, their use raises important concerns about the privacy, the security, the accuracy and reliability, and the protection of shared information. Meeting organizers and participants are expected to adhere to this policy and to rely on traditional methods of notetaking at NASBP meetings.

NASBP plans to review its policy periodically to ensure its relevancy and effectiveness, as NASBP is committed to maintaining a respectful and secure environment for all participants at NASBP meetings.
