Construction projects now rely heavily on digital payment systems, mobile technology, and interconnected project teams—creating new opportunities for cybercriminals to exploit vulnerabilities. A single compromised subcontractor or fraudulent payment request can cascade across an entire project, causing delays, financial losses, and potential disputes among stakeholders.

On this NASBP Virtual Seminar, we are joined by Suzanne Karbarz Rovner of Levenfeld Pearlstein, LLC who will examine the cybersecurity threats most relevant to the construction industry and their implications for contractors, owners, and surety partners. The session will cover common cyberattack scenarios such as payment diversion schemes, contractor impersonation, and supply-chain breaches, as well as the operational disruptions that can follow.

Attendees will also explore how cyber insurance, criminal fraud coverage, and contract provisions can help address emerging cyber exposures. Designed for surety bond producers and underwriters, this discussion will provide practical insight into how cyber risk is reshaping construction project risk management.
