An Outstanding Resource Team Fuels Realization of NASBP’s Broad Ambitions
As an organization, NASBP continually strives to be better from one year to the next. How do I define “better”? By “better,” I mean that NASBP strives to deliver the highest return on your dues investment through improving its education, advocacy, networking, and communications. To that end, I work each year with the Executive Committee to craft an operational plan that drives organizational directions and objectives. The idea of accessing attorneys with certain expertise as content resources has been percolating at NASBP for a number of years. One of the most important objectives included in the operational plan for 2015 was to create and implement the NASBP Attorney Advisory Council (AAC).
In this issue of Pipeline, NASBP is proud to unveil the AAC, a new NASBP resource team par excellence. The AAC is comprised of eight attorneys, with deep knowledge and experience in surety law, construction law, and/or government contracts: Barron Avery, Adrian Bastianelli, Jeff Frank, Keith Langley, Mike Pipkin, Steve Reed, Todd Regan, and Armen Shahinian.
Through the outstanding services of the Attorney Advisory Council, NASBP is confident that it will be “better” this year and into the future. And how will it be better? In 2015 each participant on the AAC will participate in more or more of the following initiatives: publication of an article(s) in Surety Bond Quarterly, participation in a Virtual Seminar, presentation at the Annual Meeting and/or the Regional Meetings, presentation at NASBP seminars (such as the Federal Government Contracting Seminar and the Contract and Bond Forms Workshop), and/or development of a new publication on Joint Ventures in Construction. And that is just the beginning. With the assistance of the AAC, we plan to implement more exciting educational content and communications as a better and better value proposition for all of you.
NASBP is committed to excelling in education, advocacy, networking, and communications for the betterment of the surety industry and the professional growth and success of its members, its affiliates, and its associates. The AAC is another strong tool in NASBP’s arsenal to help it realize its ambitious agenda. Please read the article in this issue of Pipeline about those excellent attorneys serving on the AAC and welcome them to the NASBP Team.
