Be a Protector of Your Culture: Get Your Tiger Trust Nominations in Now!

TigerTigers, the world’s largest cats, long have been revered by the people and cultures sharing their domains. Throughout history, tigers have occupied sacred space between man and the spiritual world, symbolizing stealth, cunning, power, and even protection. Certain Asian cultures, including Chinese culture as demonstrated in a number of folktales, believed that the tiger could vanquish evil doers and guard the good. In Indian culture, the Hindu warrior goddess Durga, the slayer of demons, for example, rides on the back of a magnificent tiger, as she slays those demonic forces that threaten peace and prosperity.

Such symbolism undergirds the appropriateness of a surety industry award being named after the tiger. The Tiger Trust recognizes individuals employed by NASBP and SFAA members who persuade a public or private construction project owner or lender to require surety bonds on a project. In short, the Tiger Trust is an award intended to elevate those surety professionals who guard our bonding culture by advocating for surety requirements where they otherwise would not be.

Please consider nominating a person or persons that is deserving of this recognition, as the nomination process will end on February 28. The criteria and process is as follows:

  • Induction into the Tiger Trust is available to current dues-paid members of SFAA or NASBP.
  • Nominations may be made by the person seeking the Tiger Trust or from another party familiar with the facts of the situation.

Few awards or recognitions earned in a surety professional’s career demonstrate such unwavering support and care for the health of the industry as the Tiger Trust. Like the mythological protector tiger, those counted among the ranks of the Tiger Trust are the guardians of the prosperity of the surety industry, securing its welfare well into the future, so be a Tiger!
