ConsensusDOCS Celebrates Fourth Year of Continued Growth and Industry Leadership

September 28, 2011 marked the fourth anniversary of ConsensusDOCS – the only standard form contract documents written by a broad coalition of design and construction industry organizations, including NASBP. In just four years, ConsensusDOCS has become a leader in advancing best practices and fair contracts, including:

  1. In 2007  ConsensusDOCS published the first integrated project delivery (IPD) standard contract
  2. In 2008  ConsensusDOCS published the first building information modeling (BIM) standard contract
  3. In 2009  ConsensusDOCS published the first standard contract to comprehensively address green building
  4. In 2010  ConsensusDOCS completed a comprehensive update to keep pace with industry trends and needs

Already in 2011, ConsensusDOCS has published new and updated documents to help project stakeholders keep pace with today’s design and construction industry needs. Additionally, ConsensusDOCS published free guidance regarding the recent ACORD insurance provision changes that impact construction contracting. ConsensusDOCS remains committed to keeping a project-first philosophy mission with contracts that are written in plain English and put Owner’s in the driver’s seat of their projects.

Particularly impressive is that the diverse coalition now encompasses 35 design and construction industry associations – a 70% increase since its inception, and usership continues to rise despite the down economy. More than 500 educational seminars and articles have been given or written about ConsensusDOCS, and there are more than 68,000 results on the world-wide-web.

ConsensusDOCS – the only standard contract documents written and endorsed by a broad coalition of leading industry associations representing designers, owners, contractors, subcontractors and sureties (DOCS).

ConsensusDOCS provides and maintains a complete set of documents for the general contractor. What seemed like an everyday introduction of these two companies quickly sparked the joining of these efforts. The synergies became obvious and a relationship developed naturally.
