AAA CMYK Stacked LogoThe AAA Virtual Construction Conference is back in 2021 after COVID-19 caused the American Arbitration Association® to postpone its 2020 Conference. Plan to attend this year’s two-day AAA Virtual Construction Conference on June 9-10, which will focus on the growing complexities of construction projects and trends going into the new decade. The Conference kicks off with a session featuring general counsel from leading construction firms discussing their expectations in the dispute resolution process and how they systematically manage disputes for their companies.

Adrian Bastianelli 2On Wednesday, June 9 there will be five informative sessions. Among them is the one scheduled at 1:45 p.m. Eastern, when Adrian Bastianelli of NASBP Attorney Advisory Council firm Peckar & Abramson will present “Maximizing the Arbitration Process—Old Habits and New Tools” with a panel of attorneys. The panel will discuss tried and true procedures as well as new and innovative tools that can be used to achieve a better arbitration process.

Banks CobleighThe next session on June 9 features Robin Banks, Principal of the law firm of Goldberg & Banks, P.C., and Kenneth Cobleigh, Vice President and Counsel, ACD Operations, LLC (AIA Contract Documents), in a presentation titled “Claims and Disputes Involving the Construction Manager: Understanding the Role and Responsibilities of the Construction Manager Constructor (CMc) and Construction Manager Adviser (CMa).” This session will explore key roles and responsibilities of the construction manager in either of these scenarios. Referencing the AIA CMa and CMc documents, the presenters will discuss the contractual relationships in these documents and updates that AIA made to the documents after receiving feedback from key stakeholders.

At the end of the first day there is a Virtual Networking Reception, and June 10 includes four more panel discussions. See the full schedule.
