Summer Surety School–Chicago is Our Kind of Town
The summer session of the NASBP William J. Angell Surety School was held for the first time in downtown Chicago. The combination of a great location, beautiful weather, fantastic students, and our amazing faculty, made this a session of the school to remember. As always, the students had an intense week of learning as well as an opportunity to make new friends, while exploring the sights of a great American city.
This session of the school attracted students from 24 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and three foreign countries.
The faculty for this session included: Paul Amstutz, Dedi Belis, Matt Cashion, David Castillo, Tom Durkin, Ed Heine, Bud Herndon, Jim Lareau, Larry McMahon, Tom Padilla, Ralph Pulver, and Bob Shaw. In addition, NASBP President John Rindt joined the faculty to instruct the Level II Ethics class. NASBP First Vice President Carl Dohn also participated in the Ethics classes as well as some other school events, since this school was being held in his hometown.
Each class at the school selects the classmate that they think has contributed the most to their learning experience. This student, “The Most Outstanding Pupil” or “MOP” as the award has named, is awarded a football that has been signed by all of their classmates and faculty members. The football, or game ball, represents their contribution to the team. We congratulate the three “MOP” recipients (pictured below) from this session of the school.
