The Winter Session of the NASBP Surety School to be held Jan. 24-29 in Houston, is now open for NASBP Members, Affiliates, and Associates and nonmembers. Levels I and II are taught by a dedicated faculty composed of NASBP Members and Affiliates who are at the top of their careers and who share insider tips and knowledge you won’t find anywhere else.
New for winter 2016, the School has relocated to the JW Marriott Galleria, directly across the street from the Houston Galleria shopping/dining complex.
Over the course of three days, Level I offers an introduction to the surety industry that familiarizes students with the function and process of bonding, with an emphasis on understanding how contractors’ financials are analyzed during the underwriting process. This course is intended not only for assistant, associate, trainee and new producers and underwriters but also administrative assistants, account managers, risk advisors and executive assistants, among others. The registration fee for members, affiliates and associates is $1,350. Click here for Level I information.
The intensive, five-day Level II course teaches students the basics of profiling clients, analyzing work in process, understanding cash flow and its importance to a contractor’s financial stability, creating an account submission, dealing with different types of claims, and managing risk. It concludes with a case study that offers participants an opportunity to put into practice all the knowledge and skills learned during the week. This program is a must for producers and underwriters with less than five years of experience. Others who have benefited from the class include claims assistants, risk advisors, analysts and customer service representatives. Registration fee for Members, Affiliates, and Associates is $1,895. Click here for Level II information.
School attendees are responsible for making their own sleeping room accommodations with the JW Marriott Houston Galleria. NASBP students receive a discounted rate of $199 (plus applicable taxes). To guarantee the rate, reservations must be made before Monday, Dec. 28, 2015.
