NASBP Producer Uses NASBP’s SuretyLearn Website for Outreach to Small, Emerging and Disadvantaged Businesses
Recently, NASBP member Robert Coon of Scott Insurance of Greensboro, N.C. participated in two events targeted to small and emerging contractors. In early March, Coon attended the Gate City Minority Business Opportunity Fair where he distributed SuretyLearn fliers describing the NASBP resources at SuretyLearn.org. This event was attended by over 200 individuals.
Later in the month, Coon participated in the North Carolina Department of Administration HUB Contractor’s College. Here, Coon taught a session on bonding and received a favorable response to the SuretyLearn.org website from the HUB’s construction coordinator. Coon said, “The various articles available on SuretyLearn offer tremendous guidance to clients. For example, the nine checklists in the article “A Quick Introduction to Construction Risks and Contracting Practices” are particularly helpful to contractors in identifying, assessing, and managing risk.” For more information how to use the numerous NASBP resources at SuretyLearn.org to educate clients, contact Shannon Crawford at scrawford@nasbp.org or 202-464-1170.
