New Group Becomes an Endorsing Member of ConsensusDocs Coalition

The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) has joined ConsensusDocs, a unique coalition of 40-plus associations that produces best practice contracts that are fair and balanced for the entire design and construction industry.

The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) is a non-profit association for independent third-party commissioning professionals, such as professional engineers (PEs), licensed architects, and others with demonstrated commissioning experience, who work for qualified, independent commissioning companies. To qualify as independent, companies cannot have any affiliation with general or installing contractors, manufacturers of systems or equipment, or other entities that present significant potential conflicts of interest in providing unbiased commissioning services.

ACG educates, trains, and certifies qualified individuals as Certified Commissioning Authorities (CxAs), and Certified Commissioning Technicians (CxTs). Its certification exams test for thorough knowledge and understanding of the commissioning process and for an ability to provide professional commissioning services in accordance with the ACG Commissioning Guideline.

Ray Bert, ACG’s Executive Director, said “ACG is pleased to join the ConsensusDocs Coalition to give commissioning authorities a voice and proactive input into the development of contracts written by and for the entire industry.”
