We all use milestones to take stock and reflect on what has been accomplished both personally and professionally. This is one of those times for us. In a couple of weeks we will hit an important milestone for NASBP’s educational efforts. On May 21st we will offer our 100th Virtual Seminar! It seems appropriate to take this opportunity to reflect on what we accomplished, as well as what lies ahead.
Since this program’s inception in 2009, over 160 industry experts have shared their time and expertise with 12,000 listeners. Presenters have come from a wide variety of industry stakeholders – agents, underwriters, attorneys, accountants, contractors, academics, bankers, and consultants. Topics have ranged from agency management, to bonding public-private partnerships, to our most recent one on trusts and indemnity agreements.
Sometimes the topics have very broad appeal and other times they are targeted at a more narrowly defined audience, but they’re always designed to be timely and to meet the real needs of NASBP’s membership.
We have a dedicated group of industry leaders who participate in the Virtual Seminar Editorial Board, which is chaired by Dedi Belis. They provide essential guidance about potential topics and presenters. I would be remiss in not taking this opportunity to thank my colleague, Cathrine Nelson, who has tirelessly managed every aspect of this program from its inception and has been so instrumental in its success.
So here’s to 100… and now we’ll get busy on the next 100! To learn more about NASBP’s Virtual Seminars, click here.
