The NASBP Regions 10 & 11 Annual Meeting will be held at the MGM Grand Foxwoods in Mashantucket, CT from September 19 to 21. The Regions 4, 5, 6, & 7 Annual Meeting is September 23 to 25 at the Lumiere Place Hotel and Casino in downtown St. Louis, MO. Lastly, Regions 1, 2, & 3 will have their Annual Meeting in San Diego, CA at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort from October 14 to 16.

Each regional meeting will include an update on the specific regions’ state and federal legislative issues and a report on the industry issues the association is taking action on. In addition to these industry updates, each meeting will feature two different, unique presentations described below.

Regions 10 & 11 will have a special presentation titled, “The Current Lending Environment – Is There Light at the End of the Tunnel?” will be led by S. Scott MacDonald, Ph.D., President and CEO, SW Graduate School of Banking Foundation. Also presenting at this meeting will be Thomas Eckert from The Bonadio Group, Robert Kelly of Berkley Surety, and Randy Stutzman from the FMI Corporation; their panel presentation is titled “An Industry Perspective on Ownership Transition and Succession Planning.”

Attendees at Regions 4, 5, 6, & 7 will hear Mark F. Sherwood, Vice President of McGraw-Hill Construction, present a detailed overview of McGraw-Hill’s 2010 Construction Outlook Report and a preview of the 2011 Report that will be published later this year. In addition, a presentation will be given by David N. Allison, CPA, CCIFP with CBIZ National Construction Industry Group and David C. Seitter with Spencer Fane Britt & Brown, LLP on “Contracting with the Federal Government.”

A presentation titled, “Survival Techniques: Learn From the “Best of the Best” – the United States Navy SEALS!,” will be presented by Navy Captain Bill Wilson, SEALs BUDs Facility at the Regions 1, 2, & 3 meeting. Attendees will also have the opportunity to hear a presentation by Steven L. Reed of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP titled “Developing Opportunities and Compliance in Federal Contracting.”
