ABC Surety Supplement Published


The Surety Information Office (SIO) 11th Annual Contractors’ Guide to Surety Bonding was published in the November 2013 issue of the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC) magazine, Construction Executive. The articles in the 60-page supplement include the “Surety Market Outlook,” in a new format, and the “Executive Insights,” as well as articles on these topics: the dangers of expanding markets, how character impacts surety credit, managing against subcontractor default, keys to improving small contractors’ surety credit, and a first-timer’s guide to being bond ready.

Nominations for SIO 2013 Awards are Due February 7

The deadline is Friday, February 7, 2014, for Local Surety Associations and National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP) and Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA) members to submit nominations for the 2013 SIO Awards for Excellence in Surety Bond Promotion and the prestigious Tiger Trust. Judging will take place in early March, and awards and Tiger Trust plaques will be presented at the annual meetings of SFAA and NASBP in the spring. All nominations must be submitted via the online forms available on the SIO awards website at http://awards.suretyinfo.org.
