While the pandemic has slowed or paused some businesses, the reverse is true regarding nefarious online scammers and bad actors. Unfortunately, the association world, including NASBP and its members, can be impacted. NASBP has learned that, while our live Annual Meeting & Expo has been paused in favor of a virtual meeting for 2021, members continue to receive deceptive emails offering the sale of a “NASBP attendee list” for a non-existent in-person meeting. NASBP does not sell meeting attendee mailing lists, and NASBP does not publish attendees’ contact information.
This type of scam has become a concern for many associations and doesn’t appear to be going away soon. Being aware can help protect you from this and a variety of scams. You can find out more on our Annual Meeting website. Remember that you can always check on the validity of a message from or involving NASBP by sending an inquiry to info@nasbp.org.
