Upcoming NASBP Virtual Seminars

NASBP Virtual Seminars are a great way to engage and to educate clients and/or employees on topics as varied as succession planning, tribal bonding, and the 2015 economic forecast.

NASBP encourages NASBP members, affiliates and associates to sign up for a Virtual Seminar, set up a conference room with a projector and Internet connection, and invite staff and/or clients to the office to learn. A lunch-and-learn is a great opportunity to engage colleagues and clients, and one registration fee and connection is all that is needed!

Offered bi-weekly throughout most of the year, Virtual Seminars cover a wide range of topics. Below is a list of what has been scheduled for this spring:

  • March 10, “The Pit and the Pendulum–An Economic Forecast,” by Anirban Basu of Sage Policy Group, Inc. Basu will discuss the 2015 economic forecast and its possible effects on the surety industry.
  • March 24, “Today’s Tough Contract Terms and Conditions and How to Streamline Their Review,” by Mary Alice McNamara, Esq., of Travelers Bond and Specialty Insurance and Rosemary Quinn, CNA Surety Corporation.
  • April 7, “Funds Control and How It’s Used Alongside a Bond to Help with Small Emerging Contractors,” by Mike Pecard of NACS, Inc. and Dwight Pilgrim, Rich & Cartmill, Inc.
  • May 5, “Construction Surety Bonding on Native American Projects” by Roger S. Owers, Esq., of Sacks Tierney P.A.

NASBP has many other topics under consideration and is always looking for new speakers, new issues to discuss, and relevant updates on previously presented topics. NASBP encourages the membership to share information like this with Charnita Lee at clee@nasbp.org.

Virtual Seminars are usually held on Tuesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. Eastern Time. They are also recorded, which means anyone who has registered for a NASBP Virtual Seminar and who finds that they are unable to attend the live presentation, will automatically receive a link to the recording to view the presentation and to hear the synced recording when it is most convenient for them.

The registration fee for each seminar is $69; a benefit open only to NASBP members, affiliates and associates.
