The Federal Legislative Fly-in plays an important advocacy role in NASBP’s Government Relations Program, as it allows NASBP members and staff to engage in policy discussions with congressional offices that may otherwise not be possible without member’s involvement.
For 2024, the Federal Legislative fly-in is scheduled for February 28 and 29. Events on February 28 will start at 2pm and include a “Washington Program,” where
Amy Walter, Editor-in-Chief of the Cook Political Report, and political pundit, will offer her political observations about the upcoming 2024 elections. Following Ms. Walter’s presentation, a panel of surety executives will discuss current surety market trends and conditions. The surety panel will be moderated by NASBP’s Third Vice President, Monica Donatelli where her panelists will include Mike Ito, Amerisure Surety, Rick Ciullo, The Hartford Bond, and Bob Murray, Zurich North America. The day will conclude with a welcome reception at the host hotel (
The Hilton Washington, DC, Capitol Hill), just a few blocks from the capitol. Capitol Hill meetings will occur throughout the day on February 29 and will be arranged for attendees by an outside consultant.
