G. Scott Walters works in the Atlanta office of Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP. He is admitted to the Bars of the State of Georgia and the District of Columbia. Walters’ legal practice focuses on serving clients in the construction and real estate development industries in the areas of general business and corporate matters, procurement, construction claims and disputes, regulatory compliance, litigation and alternative dispute resolution, and federal government contracting advice. In his nearly twenty-year legal career, Walters has represented owners, developers, sureties, contractors, and subcontractors in a variety of construction disputes concerning private projects and local, state, and federal construction and public works projects. Walters has prosecuted and defended performance and payment bond claims for both private and public owners and contractors in numerous state and federal tribunals. Walters also has extensive experience in drafting complex construction documents for heavy industrial construction and maintenance, general commercial construction, and environmental remediation projects throughout the country.
Walters currently serves as legal counsel for the Associated Builders and Contractors of Georgia, Inc. He has also taught classes on Practical Construction Project Documentation, Construction Contracting Issues, and Safety Conscious Work Environment Training, and speaks and writes frequently on a wide range of construction industry legal issues.
