Thank You NASBP Community and Best Wishes for 2026!

“We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives.”
John F. Kennedy

“Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.”
William Arthur Ward

Reading the above quotations recently reminded me of the importance of expressing gratitude, which is, in short, an intentional choice to recognize the good and the positive which reside right in front of each of us. Expressing thankfulness can be powerful, because it focuses us on the significance of our connections and reminds us that we are part of something beyond ourselves. I am indeed thankful for the privilege of working with the NASBP leadership, committee volunteers, and staff to aid and advance surety interests and for the greater NASBP community, with all its connections and relationships, which, in my opinion, brings outsized results benefiting suretyship through collective energy, activism, and expertise.

If you have not already, you will receive “The 2025 NASBP Highlights—Year in Review” publication shortly, which highlights the initiatives undertaken by the NASBP community throughout the year. This publication also is available to view at this link. Contained in its pages are many examples of NASBP “Building Better” and striving beyond itself to make meaningful differences for the surety industry and its beneficiaries. These are actions and relationships of which we can all be thankful, as they seize on opportunities to provide surety education, to communicate surety value, to promote surety interests, and to advance surety technology initiatives.

“The 2025 Highlights—Year in Review” further cites many of the organizations with which NASBP maintains relationships and with which it collaborates to accomplish NASBP objectives. These include the Surety & Fidelity Association of America, the Surety Association of Canada, the Associated General Contractors of America, the Associated Builders and Contractors, the American Subcontractors Association, the Construction Industry Procurement Coalition, the Construction Financial Management Association, Women in Surety, The Institutes’ RiskStream Collaborative, XBRL US, Construction Progress Coalition, TRIP, the Private Company Council of the Financial Accounting Standards Board, among other partners and stakeholders. NASBP is deeply grateful for these productive working relationships.

The Association also greatly benefits from the substantial contributions made by professionals volunteering their time and expertise on the NASBP Certified Public Accountant Advisory Council and on the NASBP Attorney Advisory Council.

Thank you all for your participation in and dedication to NASBP, and please enjoy a joyful holiday season and a great start to 2026!
