There is still time to register for the 2021 Summer Session of the NASBP Surety School, August 1-6, in Charlotte, NC. The NASBP William J. Angell Surety School offers an opportunity for participants with varying levels of knowledge and expertise to receive expert and comprehensive training from a dedicated team of surety professionals, as well as the opportunity to establish professional relationships with industry peers. The NASBP Surety School is taught by a dedicated team of producers and underwriters.

NASBP will offer Level I, Level II and the Commercial Surety School during the 2021 Summer Session.

Level I–August 1-4, 2021

This class includes an overview of the surety industry, introductory financial statement analysis, work-in-process concepts and application, surety credit information-gathering techniques, submissions to surety companies, review of regularly encountered surety documents and bond forms, commercial surety and introduction to claims handling concepts.

This course is rated “basic/introductory.” It is intended for the student who has little or no knowledge of the subject matter or who has little or no prior experience with the subject matter.

Level II–August 1-6, 2021

This curriculum includes intensive training in: contractor profiling, detailed financial analysis, concepts and effective practices of account activation and service, claims handling, industry marketplace changes, and ethics.

This course is rated “intermediate.” It is intended for the student who has a basic knowledge with the subject matter or who has limited experience with the subject matter.

Commercial Surety School–August 3-6, 2021

This class provides a deep dive into the details of commercial surety across a diverse array of industries encompassing numerous types of bonds, including an outline of key elements of commercial surety–legal requirements, financial analysis, underwriting processes, participant roles, and risks.

School attendees can make reservations at the Charlotte Marriott City Center at the NASBP discounted room rate of $175/night, plus taxes. To take advantage of the guaranteed NASBP rate, reservations must be made before July 7, 2021.
