Commercial Surety School

The instructors are commercial surety producers with years of experience, they will outline key elements of commercial surety including legal requirements, underwriting processes, participant roles, and risks. Instructors will describe the required financial information and explain why and what should be collected and reviewed and how this information is used.  The two-day workshop will be an interactive and immersive experience with students working through case studies allowing them to dive into the details of commercial surety across a diverse array of industries encompassing numerous types of bonds.

Registration cost $985 for members, affiliates and associates.

Non-member registration costs $1,970.

All cancellations must be sent in writing to NASBP at or via fax at 240-200-1295. For a full refund, a written cancellation must be received 30 calendar days prior to the start of the event. Cancellations received between 15 - 29 days prior to the event are eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations received in less than 15 calendar days prior to the event are not eligible for refunds. All refunds will be charged a 5% processing fee.


Commercial Surety School will be held at Hilton West Palm Beach, 600 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401 (561) 231-6000. Attendees are responsible for making their own sleeping room accommodations. NASBP has secured a discounted room rate of $140/night plus taxes. All students must reserve their room by Monday, July 2, 2018 in order to receive this special rate. Reserve your room online or by calling 1-800-HILTONS and indicate Group code: ZNASB  to receive the discounted rate.

NASBP has applied to the state insurance/financial services department/commissioner/continuing education committee for continuing education credits for the Commercial Surety School in all 50 state's, DC and Ontario, Canada, and will update the list below with the amount of Property/Casualty Insurance continuing education credits as they are approved.  

In order to receive credits, students must sign in at the beginning of each day's class and sign out at the end of each day's class. Students must attend all 3 days' classes in order to receive the credits; no partial credit is awarded. There is no final exam. If you plan to request Continuing Education (CE) credits, please do not book an airline flight before 7:30 p.m.
