In January 113 students from across the U.S. and Canada kicked off 2022 with clear insights into the world of surety, when they attended the 2022 NASBP William J. Angell Surety School, which was held in Dallas, TX.
At every NASBP School, the students in each class identify the student whom they consider to be the most outstanding pupil (MOP) to receive a memento signed by all the members of the class and faculty.
Receiving the coveted football in Level I Red Team was Lena Lawson of Markel Surety Corporation, Marietta, GA.

The Level I Yellow Team chose Max Lehman of American Global of Texas LLC, Spring, TX.

The Level II Blue Team selected Dan Schulze of Intact Insurance Specialty Solutions, Dallas, TX.

The Level II Green Team selected Jay Driscoll of Lockton Companies, LLC, Farmington, CT.

Congratulation to all these outstanding students!
As a small way of saying “thank you” for their hard work and dedication to NASBP, faculty members are given a crystal apple in recognition of every five years of service. This winter, NASBP Professional Development Chair and Past President Matt Cashion presented four faculty members with service awards: Jim Lareau received an award for 30 years of service, NASBP Past Presidents Ed Heine and Larry McMahon received awards for 20 years of service, and Donnie Doan received an award for 10 years of service! Congratulations and thank you for your many years of service to NASBP and the surety industry!

NASBP would like to thank all of the NASBP Members and Affiliates who volunteered their time to teach the School, dedicating their time and expertise once again for the benefit of NASBP, the next generation of bond producers and underwriters, and the surety industry as a whole!
