Warranty in Section 3.17 of the General Conditions for the SF Groundwater Supply Well Stations

On behalf of the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), a national trade association of surety bond producers, including licensed resident and nonresident producers placing bonds in the State of California and in other jurisdictions, I am contacting you regarding a specific provision in the updated General Conditions (Jan. 2014) included in the bid specifications for the San Francisco Groundwater Supply Well Stations project (Project) of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC). An NASBP member alerted us to language in the General Conditions that appears to require the contractor to co-guarantee all manufacturers’ warranties.
