A Growing Community, A Stronger NASBP: The Value of Associate Membership
One of NASBP’s greatest strengths is the breadth of knowledge, experience, and relationships within our membership. While surety bond producers are at the heart of our Association, an increasingly important part of the NASBP community is our growing class of Associate members—businesses and professional service providers whose expertise supports the surety and construction industries. Our Associate members bring valuable knowledge, fresh perspectives, and specialized capabilities that enrich our association and benefit the broader surety community. They represent a diverse range of professional disciplines, including construction accounting, law, banking and lending, financial risk assessment, claims consulting, funds control, business transition consulting, and technology and software development.
These professionals are more than service providers. They are important partners in the surety business, helping producers, surety companies, contractors, and other clients navigate complex business challenges, manage risks, embrace innovation, and pursue new opportunities.
Their participation also strengthens NASBP itself. Associate members contribute their knowledge and insights through educational programs, industry publications, committee activities, and professional exchanges. Their perspectives broaden our conversations about emerging issues and industry challenges, adding depth to our collective understanding of the surety marketplace.
Just as importantly, Associate membership creates opportunities for meaningful professional relationships. Through NASBP meetings, events, and other activities, Associates connect with producers and surety company representatives, building relationships that can benefit everyone involved.
As our Associate membership continues to grow, so does the collective expertise and value of the NASBP community. I believe this growth presents an important opportunity for our producer members to help strengthen the association even further. Think about the professional service providers with whom you work regularly. Perhaps it is an accounting firm specializing in construction, an attorney knowledgeable about surety claims, a funds control company, a financial consultant, or a technology provider developing innovative solutions for our industry. These firms may be excellent candidates for NASBP Associate membership.
I encourage every NASBP producer member to consider the professional relationships they have developed and personally invite qualified firms to explore becoming NASBP Associates. Sometimes a simple conversation or introduction is all it takes to bring a valuable new participant into our community. Prospective Associates can learn more about membership at NASBP.org and explore the professional service providers already participating in NASBP through our Surety Pro Locator.
By welcoming more of these talented professionals into NASBP, we strengthen the connections, knowledge, and resources that make our association valuable to all its members. A broader community makes for a stronger NASBP. Let’s continue building it together.
