The 2026 American Arbitration Association® (AAA) Construction Conference will be held on Thursday, June 4, in Marina del Rey, CA. NASBP is participating as a cooperating organization of this Conference.

The AAA Construction Conference theme, “Building Resilience: The Future of Construction Disputes and ADR in an Everchanging World,” focuses presentations on exploring how mediation, arbitration, and other ADR processes are adapting to address the complex risks and demands of modern construction.

The panelists will focus on how mediation and arbitration deliver the speed, expertise, and enforceability that project stakeholders need to resolve these complex issues.

• Labor & Supply Chain Pressures: ADR’s Role in Managing Workforce and Material Disruptions—this session explores the types of disputes arising from issues like productivity claims, material substitution, and increased material costs, with presenters highlighting mediation and arbitration as early interventions to avoid larger disputes.
• Technology, BIM & AI Accountability in Design and Coordination Disputes—panelists will review common conflicts stemming from model discrepancies, AI-generated errors, and undefined design responsibilities, highlighting how arbitration and mediation are well-suited to address these disputes.
• Global Mega-Projects & Cross-Cultural Dynamics in Transnational Construction—this session will discuss the efficiency and fairness of mediation and arbitration as dispute resolution techniques for international construction conflicts.
• The Evolution of Construction Mediation: Timing, Strategy & the Mediator’s Expanding Role—this panel will explore trends in mediation, offering attendees insights into early mediation, technical mediators, phased mediation, and more.
