At the 2026 NASBP Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, CO, the NASBP Board of Directors approved unanimously an amendment to the NASBP Bylaws eliminating the practice of prorating the dues of new members. This action was taken under the recommendations of the Finance and Membership Committees and of the Executive Committee. Prorating was deemed unnecessary and burdensome. The last sentence in Article XI, Section 2 of the Association Bylaws has been removed to reflect that decision. See below.
Bylaws Amendment
The amendment to the NASBP Bylaws is as follows:
[Last sentence to be deleted in Article XI, Section 2]
“Section 2. PAYMENT OF DUES: Dues shall be payable upon receipt of an invoice and shall be paid no later than March 31 of the fiscal membership year. Dues of a new regular, affiliate or associate membership shall be prorated from the first day of the month in which such new member has fulfilled all applicant requirements and has been notified by the Association of its membership status, for the remainder of the fiscal year of the Association.”
