NASBP’s New “IT Show and Tell” List Can Help Surety Professionals be More Efficient
NASBP’s Automation and Technology Committee recently compiled the top 25 technology resources available today that can help surety professionals be more efficient in their daily tasks. These 25 technology tools, applications, and services are resources that the Committee has identified as most likely to save member agencies time and money. The “NASBP IT Show and Tell List 2.0” includes a brief explanation and a web site link to each resource and categorizes the resources into four categories: Web Services, Tools, Portable Devices, and Hardware and Software. Click here to download the “NASBP IT Show and Tell List 2.0.”
Here is a sampling of the time and money saving functions of some of the resources on the List:
- Obtain detailed reports on web site activity
- Verify a company’s exact legal name, and, in many states, if the company is in good standing, — these all via a Business Filings Database web site
- Control your computers from an internet connection
- Manage and encrypt your many passwords using one program and one password
- Leverage your Blackberry to give wireless broadband access to your laptop without the use of an air card (and avoid additional fees)
- Transfer your pictures and video wirelessly to your computer without removing a card or plugging a cable in
- Print more efficiently by analyzing the lifetime cost of a printer
The Committee developed a similar IT Show and Tell List of resources in 2009. To learn more about NASBP’s Automation and Technology Committee, information on IT Show and Tell, or if you have an IT resource you would like to share with the Committee, please contact Dave Golden at dgolden@nasbp.org.
