The NASBP Certified Public Accountant Advisory Council (CPAAC) serves as one of NASBP’s outstanding “resource teams.” (The other outstanding NASBP resource team is the Attorney Advisory Council.) The CPAAC is comprised of 10 experts in their field—on such critical topics as accounting, tax, audit, and financial issues for construction contractors, among others. The participants on the CPAAC provide hot topic articles for Surety Bond Quarterly and Pipeline; content for blogs; presentations for Virtual Seminars and podcasts; and in-person seminars (when there is no pandemic).

On May 31, 2021, one of the most hard-working participants on the CPAAC retired from the CPAAC, concomitantly with his retirement as national industry partner for BKD National Construction & Real Estate Group. Timothy T. Wilson leaves a big gap to fill, as he has been a stalwart in providing fine, in-depth articles and excellent virtual seminars and presentations; and NASBP’s educational offerings have been mightily enhanced by his robust participation on the Council.

We at NASBP thank Wilson for sharing his experience, knowledge, time, and expertise for the benefit of our members and of the public. We will miss his good humor and gracious willingness to pitch in during time-crunch situations. We wish him a happy retirement, filled with new adventures with his family!

And while we will miss Wilson, we are pleased to announce that his colleague at BKD, Jason A. Myers, has joined the NASBP CPAAC as of June 1, 2021. Myers is a member of the National Construction & Real Estate Group of BKD. He is also the East Region team leader of the firm. He has 20 years of experience providing assurance, accounting, and consulting services to both public and private companies. Myers was named the 2016 Emerging Growth Leader of BKD’s Construction and Real Estate Group. Myers can be reached at jmyers@bkd.com or 317.383.4000. Welcome aboard!
