In early March, NASBP co-hosted a series of Political Action Committee (PAC) events with members of the Construction Industry Procurement Coalition (CIPC) to show support to the following members: U.S. House Small Business Committee Chair, Nydia Velázquez (D-NY-7th); Co-Chairs of the Construction procurement Caucus, U.S. Representatives Scott Peters (D-CA-52nd) and Peter Stauber (D-MN-8th); Representative Troy Balderson (R-OH-12th); and U.S. Senator Mazie Hirono (D-CA), who supported a number of NASBP legislative efforts. Chairwoman Velázquez, on three separate occasions in the last decade, introduced legislation to exempt the Miller Act from threshold adjustments based on inflation, while Senator Hirono was the Senate champion. Also, both Representative Velázquez and Senator Hirono have supported legislative efforts and have worked with NASBP to improve the SBA Bond Guarantee Program over the years.

During the PAC event for Caucus Co-Chairs Peters and Stauber, held at the Associated General Contractors of America’s Townhouse, CIPC members were afforded an opportunity to become reacquainted with Representatives Peters and Stauber since the Caucus kickoff press event held last year and to brainstorm about potential topics for a second CPC event planned for later this year.

See photos from the various events below. Thank you to everyone who participated!
