NASBP Leadership Group Continues to Grow

The NASBP 5-15 Leadership Circle has now grown to 40 members! With special activities throughout the year, this group has committed to expanding their leadership potential by being actively involved in the surety industry, learning about strategic issues, and developing relationships with industry leaders.
One of the activities of the group is to hold a quarterly conference call where a representative of a surety company is invited to make a presentation to the group about their company, what they see in the current surety market, and what they anticipate the year ahead will hold for surety professionals and their clients. Most recently the group heard from Mike Foster, Executive Vice President of Merchants Bonding, for a strategic update about Merchants and Foster’s perspective on the current surety environment. In a group discussion, Foster shared what he believes the future holds regarding credit challenges, claims activity, and Merchant’s Rapid Access Program (RAP) for small contractors.
The next conference call scheduled in mid November will provide a recap of the NASBP Mid-Year Board meeting. NASBP President John Rindt will provide the group a summary of the Association’s meeting and the issues the Association is addressing on behalf of the membership and the industry. Then, the group will hold a call about mid January. During that call, Geoff Delisio of Zurich Surety will make a presentation to the group about his company.
The 5-15 Leadership Circle was formed to provide opportunities for high potential surety professionals with 5 to 15 years of surety industry experience to prepare for senior leadership positions within their organizations and more broadly within the industry. 5-15 members are encouraged to be actively involved in the work of NASBP, provided access to the thought leaders of the surety industry, and offered unique educational and networking opportunities.
If you have a high potential individual in your agency, who has between five and fifteen years of surety experience, consider nominating them to join this exciting group. For more information, contact Ann Latham at 202-686-3700 or alatham@nasbp.org.
