Last year, NASBP unveiled several new resources for the NASBP membership, which included two interactive maps highlighting pertinent surety information. This year, NASBP has worked hard on developing additional resources to keep the membership and their clients informed.
New Small and Emerging Business Map
NASBP has unveiled a map identifying the different certifying agencies for disadvantaged businesses throughout the country. Members, Affiliates, and Associates can simply click on their state and discover which agencies can certify their small and emerging contractor clients.
Updated Comment Letter Map
NASBP has continued its extensive letter writing campaign to respond to surety issues throughout the country. NASBP Members, Affiliates, and Associates continue to bring local, state, and federal surety issues to NASBP for our formal response. This year, NASBP has added nearly 30 comment letters to the NASBP resource map. New subjects covered include owner prequalification requirements and partial bonds. Several new states, such as Nevada, Georgia, and Utah, are now represented on the map since NASBP began writing comment letters.
Coming Soon: State Little Miller Act Map
NASBP is finalizing work on a map of all fifty state Little Miller Acts. This map will be very similar to the Pubic-Private Partnership (P3) informational map that NASBP created in 2014. Each state’s Little Miller Act will be analyzed to give the membership a more comprehensive view of the variety of bonding statutes throughout the country. Each state’s analysis will include the current threshold, the project type covered by each act, and the specifics of the types and percentages of bonds.
