Surety Section Published in Construction Executive

The latest issue of the Construction Executive magazine’s Surety Section, developed by the Surety Information Office (SIO) has been published. A pdf of the section is available to view/print from the SIO website. The quickest way access to the brochures/pdfs posted at www.sio.org is to right click the image of the brochure or pdf and then select “Save Target As” and then save to the Desktop. In addition to the “Surety Market Overview” and “Executive Insights,” the Surety Section contains articles on a variety of topics, including surviving the economic downturn, subcontractor prequalification, and equipment theft.

The 59-page Surety Section of the Associated Building Contractors magazine is an important product for the surety industry because it reaches more than 120,000 construction business owners and top financial management readers with key messages supported by the surety industry. Five SIO Brochures Redesigned and Updated

National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASBP), www.nasbp.org, and the Surety & Fidelity Association of America (SFAA), www.surety.org, have redesigned and updated five SIO brochures, which have been posted to the SIO.org web site. The following three brochures have been redesigned and updated:

 

– Helping Contractors Grow
– The Importance of Surety Bonds in Construction
– Why Do Contractors Fail?

The text of two additional brochures were updated. These two brochures are titled:

  • – Contract Surety Bonds: Protecting Taxpayer Dollars
  • – Surety Bonds At Work

Call for Entries for 2012 SIO Awards

Be sure to mark Friday, February 8, 2013, on your calendars. This is the deadline for Local Surety Associations (LSAs) and SFAA and NASBP members to submit nominations for the SIO Awards for Excellence in Surety Bond Promotion and the Tiger Trust. All entries must be submitted via the online nomination forms at http://awards.suretyinfo.org/  on the SIO awards website. Judging will take place in early March, and awards and Tiger Trust plaques will be presented at the annual meetings of the SFAA and the NASBP in the spring. Reminder: Update Your LSA Directory Listings

If you have not done so, please visit the Local Surety Association (LSA) Directory, review the roster of officers for your local surety association, and submit the updated contact information to Stephanie Robichaux at srobichaux@surety.org by December 31, 2012. If your LSA holds elections after this deadline, please let us know when we should expect to receive your update.
