This year’s Summer Session of the NASBP William J. Angell Surety School took place July 30- August 4 in Rosemont, IL. This was an exciting Summer Session as it hosted not only Contract Surety Schools Level I and II, but also hosted the inaugural NASBP Commercial Surety School Level II class! Throughout the week, experienced surety professionals guided 119 students from across the U.S. through a rigorous and engaging educational program.
In addition to providing an immense amount of educational content, the school also fosters strong bonds between students and faculty. At the close of this 3-to-5-day educational experience, students are asked to select among their classmates the Most Outstanding Pupil (MOP) who will be given a football, signed by all the students and faculty in their class.
Receiving the coveted football in Contract Level I was Dylan Clark of SOMPO International Surety, Mt. Juliet, TN.

Contract Level II Blue Team students selected Sam Campos of SOMPO International Surety, Mt. Juliet, TN, and the Contract Level II Green Team students selected Dakota Zimmerman of SOMPO International Surety, Conshohocken, PA.

The Commercial Surety School Level II class also took part in this tradition and selected Jaquanda Martin-King of Willis of New York, New York, NY.

NASBP would also like to thank the outstanding team of NASBP Members and Affiliates who served as faculty and auditors for this summer’s Surety School, dedicating their time and expertise once again to give back to the industry by elevating and inspiring the next generation of bond producers and underwriters and the surety industry as a whole.
A special thank you to Robin Amstutz, Dedi Belis, Jeff Broyles, NASBP President Nick Newton, Nathan Wonder, and all the faculty that helped to develop the content and present the first Commercial Surety School Level II class!
