NASBP is pleased to announce that a four-part series on the opportunities and risks of new construction technologies, by Nancy Greenwald, will appear in the next four issues of the NASBP magazine, Surety Bond Quarterly.
What are the opportunities and what are the risks of new construction technologies? This series in NASBP’s Surety Bond Quarterly will tackle these questions and more. The first article will explore the ways that the adoption of new technologies in the construction industry may impact the critical role of bond producers and sureties. The next two articles will take a deep dive into technologies that are taking hold in the construction industry. The second article will focus on blockchain and smart contracts technologies. The third will examine big data, artificial intelligence, robotics, and the internet of things. In the final article we will take a hard look at how building information modeling (BIM) technology, which has become ubiquitous, is being used in the industry and examine lessons learned from the adoption of BIM technology.
