George Henry Feige
It is with great sadness that NASBP announces that a past NASBP activist, George Henry Feige, 83, passed away on January 10 at his home in Indiana.
Feige served in World War II with the United States Marine Corps. After his military experience, he went on to become a surety underwriter for National Surety and the Fireman’s Fund. In 1966, he began working for a NASBP Affiliate, The Westfield Companies (Ohio Farmers Insurance Company), as a Bond Manager and remained there until his retirement in 1998.
Todd Loehnert, Senior Vice President and National Contract Surety Practice Group Lead of Wells Fargo Insurance Services, described Feige as a “legendary Westfield Bond Manager.” Randy Deskins, Bond Field Director for Cincinnati Insurance Co. added, ”Feige will be missed and remembered for his successful career.”
Feige is survived by his wife, Barbara, a son, a daughter, two grandchildren, a great grandchild, and his brother, Allan.
A funeral service was held January 15 at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown, with a burial in the St. Michaels Cemetery. Military services were provided by the American Legion Post 335 and VFW Post 1427.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked contributions be made to VITAS Hospice Charitable Fund. To view an obituary or to send condolences, visit The Courier-Journal by clicking here.
