April is just around the corner, when another predicted record-breaking crowd of surety professionals will participate in the NASBP Annual Meeting and Expo, which will be held April 14 to 17, 2019 in Austin, TX. The unofficial city motto is “Keep Austin Weird,” and NASBP is doing everything in its power to “Keep NASBP Weird” that week with an Annual Meeting that is just a little outside of the ordinary routine.
Leave your suits and ties at home (unless it is a bolo tie), because denim and cowboy boots will reign supreme at the JW Marriott Austin in April. The theme this year is a casual western vibe. From a rooftop pool deck welcome reception overlooking the Austin skyline to a spouse/guest brunch providing country line dancing instruction, we hope all the attendees will get a flavor of what Austin has to offer. Saving the best for last, the Tuesday evening final event will be “going country” and held off-site a few blocks from the JW Marriott at the famous live music venue Stubbs Bar-B-Que Austin.
Join us for live music, award-winning Bar-B-Q, and local dessert food trucks; and, for those more adventurous attendees, try your “cowboy” skills with the mechanical bull. For the competitive crowd, a cornhole (bag toss) tournament will be held throughout the evening. So grab your favorite agent or underwriter and a catchy team name and register to compete for bragging rights and the trophy to bring home. Registration and more information on the cornhole tournament will be announced in early April. You can also sign up for the cornhole tournament during the meeting at the NASBP registration desk.
Overall, we could not ask for a better host city for this event, because the “Live Music Capitol of the World” offers a vibrant downtown area, world-class dinning, and an eclectic Texas experience. This is one NASBP Annual Meeting not to miss.
Register today for the Annual Meeting to ensure you receive all preliminary attendee information and updates. For more information on the meeting program, hotel options, and other activities in Austin, visit nasbp.org.
