NASBP Members Participated in Outreach Efforts Throughout the Country

This year NASBP members have been busy reaching out to small and emerging contractors to help educate them on bonding. Below is just a small sampling of the activities NASBP members have participated in this year to date. See pictures below.

This winter, Josh Etemadi and Edin Zukanovic of Construction Bonds, Inc.–A Division of Murray Securus and Reggie Jarvis (first picture below) of Centennial Bonding participated in the U.S. Department of Transportation Purple Line – Bonding Education Workshop in Prince Georges County, Maryland. This program was scheduled to coincide with a new public transit project that will connect the suburbs of Maryland with the District of Columbia by light rail.

On March 24, Small and Emerging Business Committee Chair Josh Etemadi (second picture below) participated in a panel discussion at the National Hispanic Contractors Association’s Legislative Summit discussing how contractors can become bondable while encouraging them to find the right surety bond agent for their goals. This meeting took place on Capitol Hill and was attended by numerous contractors and construction trade associations.

On March 19, NASBP Past President and NASBP Membership Committee Chair, Todd Loehnert of LA Surety Solutions and Josh Etemadi and participated in the U.S. DOT Bonding Education Program Stakeholder’s Meeting in Kentucky.

On March 23, NASBP members Edin Zukanovic (third picture below) and Josh Etemadi presented to prospective entrepreneurs at the Prince George’s County Community College Program on Construction Entrepreneurship on the basics of bonding and the importance it plays in business.

On January 29, Michael Williams (fourth picture below) of CCI presented at a Construction Employees Association workshop in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on how to access bonding. This region is of particular importance to NASBP given a recent disparity study completed by the county that listed bonds as an impediment to emerging businesses obtaining contracts.

Remember that the NASBP website www.SuretyLearn.org is a valuable resource for the NASBP membership to use to help educate small and emerging contractors about the surety bonding process and obtaining surety credit.
