The American Council of Independent Laboratories Joins ConsensusDocs Coalition

ConsensusDocs is announcing the addition of the American Council of Independent Laboratories (ACIL) to the ConsensusDocs Coalition. ConsensusDocs is dedicated to drafting and publishing best-practice standard construction contract documents. ACIL is the 42nd organization to join the Coalition of leading construction associations. ConsensusDocs publishes a standard agreement for independent laboratory testing, the ConsensusDocs 748, as well as laboratory testing when hazardous waste is known to be present, the ConsensusDocs 749. ACIL’s board of directors has created a guidebook commentary based upon the ConsensusDocs 748 to ensure that its members’ perspective is clearly articulated in industry-standard contracts. The full commentary is a members-only resource at www.acil.org.

“As the leading association representing independent labs, we are thrilled to join the ConsensusDocs Coalition and ensure independent laboratories’ voice is heard in industry-standard contract documents that impact our members’ business practices,” commented Richard Bright, ACIL Chief Operating officer. “ConsensusDocs’ competitive advantage is to be able to listen and truly integrate diverse perspectives to reach consensus on contractual best practices,” commented Brian Perlberg, Executive Director of ConsensusDocs Coalition & Senior Counsel. He added, “ACIL’s joining the Coalition’s ranks enriches our understanding of how standard contract documents should address independent labs.”
